March 7:   Millerstown Lions Club Annual Card Party Plans have been finalized for the annual Pinochle card party sponsored by the Millerstown Lions Club in Millerstown.  The event will be held on Saturday, March 7 at the Greenwood Elementary School, 405 East Sunbury Street in Millerstown Borough, Perry County.  Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the party will begin at 6 p.m. sharp.  This annual event has been held by the Millerstown Lions for many years and is recognized as one of the most popular events of its kind in the area.  Prizes generously donated by local businesses will be awarded to the lucky winners and nearly everyone is guaranteed a prize.  In addition to the prizes given out, there is usually an auction of different items so players should come prepared to find some bargains during the auction. Profits from the annual event benefits Lions District 14T projects including sight, diabetes, Beacon Lodge, Leader Dog and many others. Cost of the party is only $8 per person, which includes refreshments. Local residents are invited to get out of the house after the long winter to enjoy a fun evening of cards, refreshments, and fellowship while helping the many projects that Lions Clubs support. Although it is not officially spring yet,  Millerstown Community Success, Inc. will welcome many new vendors to its Twenty-Eighth Annual Spring Fling Craft Show on Saturday, March 14 in the Greenwood Elementary School 405 E. Sunbury Street in Millerstown Borough.  Doors will open at 7:45 a.m. and shoppers will find a fantastic shopping opportunity until 2 p.m.  Again this year, there will be  outdoor vendors as well, one of them selling delicious kettle corn made right on the site. Spring Fling sponsors are excited about the possibility of having one of the largest shows ever for the annual spring event.  Daily calls from new vendors are being received and  each new vendor adds more variety to the show.  Ladies, if it is “bling” that you are interested in, you need to rush in to this show as quality jewelry vendors appealing to everyone's taste will be in attendance.  Men will also be able to find interesting items that will appeal to them and also do some early Christmas shopping for his wife and family or to purchase surprises for his family for Easter..  You will also be able to fill your Easter Baskets with homemade treats from candy vendors. Visitors to the show will be able to shop for spring decorating ideas, Easter gifts, St. Patrick's Day gifts and Mother’s Day gifts or even get a jump-start on early Christmas gifts.
